Raj Patel

Writer, activist and academic

Raj Patel is a writer, academic and activist. He is a Research Professor at the Lyndon B Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He has published widely in the academic press, with articles in peer-reviewed philosophy, politics, sociology and economics journals,  and is the author of Stuffed and Starved: The Hidden Battle for the World Food System, and the New York Times and international bestseller, The Value of Nothing. His most recent book, co-authored with Jason W Moore, is A History of the World in Seven Cheap Things, and he is currently completing a documentary project on climate change and the food system.
