Frank Brennan

Jesuit priest, Professor of Law at Australian Catholic University and Adjunct Professor at the ANU College of Law and National Centre for Indigenous Studies.

Professor Frank Brennan was the founding director of Uniya, the Australian Jesuit Social Justice Centre. He is a board member of St Vincent’s Health Australia and Jesuit Social Services. He is presently Advocate in Residence for Catholic Health Australia, Catholic Social Services Australia and the St Vincent de Paul Society. He is an author of several books on Aboriginal issues, civil liberties, asylum and religion.

Father Frank was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 1995 for services to Aboriginal Australians. In 1998, the National Trust classified him as a Living National Treasure. Former Prime Minister The Honourable Kevin Rudd described Father Frank as “an ethical burr in the nation’s saddle”.
